Cuttyhunk Island is the Southern most island in the Elizabeth Island chain. Discovered by Barthlomew Gosnold in 1602, Gosnolds accounts of this Island may have inspired Shakespeares, The Tempast. It is two miles long and under 1 mile wide. A favorite destination point for boaters and nature enthusiasts Cuttyhunk boasts walking trails ,consersation land ,  beaches,bird- watching ,and a very active Historical Society. . The islands population has grown over the years and presently boasts a year round population of about 36 residents.
If you are fortunate to be there for sunrise and sunset you are in for the stuff memories are made of.

Aquinnah , Martha's Vineyard formely known as Gay Head  is located at the westernmost part of the island . Aquinnah means high land  and here the 150' rainbow colored cliffs dominate the  landscape and offer a magical experience for the first time beach roamers .
Tempting as it may be it is illegal to remove clay from the cliffs. There are paths  through the dunes that lead to the beach and a most interesting
beach walk is instore for the lucky daytripper or weekend visitor.
